Congress cannot pardon anyone, only the president can
“ Congress cannot pardon anyone, only the president can”
A pardon is for someone who has been convicted. As I understand, the J6 prisoners have not even been officially charged with anything. None have been charged with insurrection. A few have confessed to minor charges after two years of incarceration. All this goes against the bill of rights, but nothing is done.
