Sorry I just disagree. This is my opinion. I thought it was a nice change. Would I like to hear that every time? No, but I thought it was decent and respectful. I realize you disagree, and that’s just fine.
To Anachreon in heaven, where he sat in full glee,
A few sons of harmony sent a petition
That he their inspirer and patron would be,
When this answer came back from the jolly old Grecian:
"Voice, fiddle and flute no longer be mute!
I'll lend you my name and inspire you, to boot.
And besides, I'll instruct you, like me, to entwine
The myrtle of Venus with Bacchus's vine."
I only saw the 30 second clip in the post so...... 🎸🔊. But, I’m still rockin’ it at 75 so.........
The rock group Boston does an electronic guitar rendition w the whole band and it’s really good.
I never perceived his Woodstock performance of "Star Spangled Banner" to be anti-patriotic or even as a protest against Vietnam. If I remember it, his performance was so late at night that the sun was coming up as it was ending. The sunrise inspired Jimi to do the national anthem as an improvised guitar solo.
Yep, while Jimi may not have been a fan of the Vietnam War in terms of the way it was conducted, he made it clear he was not a fan of the Viet Cong, or Communism in general.
And here I am just wishing I could find a copy out there of B.J. Thomas singing the National Anthem during the Stars Stanley Cup finals back in 1999. Man had a voice...
Which is to say, ping to watch later. :)
“Madison Rising”

After listening to the one featured in the FR article and Jimi Hendrix’s version, I sorely needed the refreshing rock version of the group “Madison Rising” and am thankful you posted a link.
Never heard of them; will be checking their clips out. What can I say? Never got into the loud banging music.... I really liked the “Madison Rising” sound!
That lead singer, Dave Bray, doing the National Anthem is no longer with the group...He is a former Navy Corpsman who served with 2nd battalion/ 2nd Marines (STA) Surveillance and Target Acquisition Platoon.
