I can see where the 86% number comes from.

Both hospitalization percentages are very low

Now I suppose this analysis has to factor in Age, Sex, and “preexisting” conditions, plus perhaps more factors.

I don't think so.

This retrospective cohort study included all members of Clalit Health Services, aged ≥65, eligible for a bivalent booster.

It doesn't look like they did much additional screening. I don't know what the booster eligibility requirements are in Israel but it's usually only that it's been long enough since your last shot.

Maybe with IVM early treatment it would be almost -zero-
