The local lounge? I bet that’s a thrill a minute.
*************
It can be.
My little brother plays a couple of gigs a month.
He’s not in it for the money, he just likes to play the drums & fiddle in front of people that are appreciative.

That’s nice. Me personally I avoid things like crowds, bars, lounges, airports and amusement parks like they’re a flesh eating disease.

I'm with you! My husband, an IT specialist, does pickup gigs with a friend's jazz band when a club manager INSISTS on a rock set "for the customers." Chris tried to explain til he was blue in the face that jazz is not rock and a jazz guitarist can't just start playing rock.
It's easier just to have hubby jump in for the set for lead guitar.
He's really quite good (I just play bluegrass for my own amusement.)

People that want to unhappy will be unhappy. I’ve played music for crowds of thousands, now I play for handfuls. It’s still great and I’m still getting better as I approach 74.
