Farmers who own and use a lot of equipment have their own tools, shops and welding equipment.
When weather dictates immediate use of the equipment, rational people do not wait for an appointment for service with a tractor dealership when something breaks.
In June of 2021, I took a John Deere riding mower to the local farm dealer to buy replacement mowing blades and have them installed. The parts department told me there were no blades then available for this popular mower ANYWHERE in the U.S. John Deere network. John Deere always bragged they stocked parts to repair every machine they ever built.
I also checked with the John Deere service department. They told me they had no openings for service until AUGUST ! It was still June.
I took the mower to a nearby auto mechanic shop run by Mexicans, most of whom did not speak English. They said they could sharpen the existing blades IMMEDIATELY. They rolled the mower off the trailer and sharpened the blades as my wife and I were having lunch across the street. Mission accomplished. Charge was $30.
I am closing in on Medicare. I didn't want to create an online SS account, so I called the local SS office. It was 2 months to get an appointment. So I created an online account to apply. During the online account signup, I was kicked out of the process and had to bring a birth certificate to the local SS office. I walked into the SS office to give them my birth record and was out the door in about 15 minutes. LOL
