I wonder if the students realize what is being done for them?
Well, now there are two sides to debate. The WOKE and DeSantis... Before DeSantis ‘professors’ and ‘teachers’ had the only side being represented..
They probably don't and won't realize what is being done for them
In my own college experience, I found more independent thinking at the Junior College level, rather than at the upper levels of college
It seems that in the upper levels , and especially at the Graduate level, thought becomes stogie and static .
I attribute the emphasis on learning and developing independent thought at this junior college level due to the frequency of faculty change, and minimizing faculty tenure.
Faculty tenure is the institutionalization of thought and knowledge mediocrity, which supports thought into 'chronic status quo'
Give me an education in a research university where there is innovation and experimentation, and you will find that innovation translates into the student body as by osmosis,
and encourages and perpetuates more free thinking and independent professional and personal development.
You won't change the universities direction until you bring in the support staff at the faculty level, thus startling the older tenured faculty .
