So what if today it was not loaded, not real, whatever. Tomorrow it could have been real. Evil always escalates. It would have reached that point some day and someone would have died.
Likely this shooting saved someone’s life down the road.

Oh if the police find him he will be charged.
Personally I have no issue with him putting the criminal down, but the law will definitely have a problem with the bullet to the head after he’s clearly been neutralized.
If they do charge him, and I’m on the jury I’d engage in jury nullification and likely vote to acquit.. unless prosecutors can prove some pattern for this guy that would make him a menace to society.
