We just lost a bunch of statehouses in November. We were doing pretty well. Maybe in 50 years.

This has been my fear as well - the Left would use this as an opportunity to do away with the Constitution all together.

And how do we keep the progressives out? How do we even keep the Republicans who already will not repeal FDR era lawlessness out?

It cannot be done.

It’s a Trojan Horse that would lock in leftist tyranny to the end of time.

I’m completely on board with a Convention of States if, and only if, at the end, each State is allowed free, fair, and transparent up / down vote. Those States that vote down are then free to leave the Union peacefully as they do not accept the new Constitution.

That is a Win / Win to me. If the Constitution is strengthened and re-enforces the founding principles, then certain commie States will vote it down and be gone. If, however, the commies succeed in rewriting it, then free States can vote it down and we will leave.

We have state legislatures legalizing ballot harvesting throughout the country. Conservatives are deluding themselves if they think a Constitutional convention will go the way they're expecting.

A Convention of States is a gamble, and it’s a gamble that gets riskier with each passing year. However, this country is drifting more and more off-course. There seems to be no “normal” way to correct this. So I say roll the dice.

And let’s say the Convention fails to produce anything of value. At least it’s a shot across the bow.

Each state would send representatives based upon the political make up of their respective legislatures.

Right now the majority of states are governed by Republican dominated legislators. But any slate of representatives could propose amendments. Some may be to repeal existing Constitutional Amendments. The only amendment that could not be proposed is one to abolish the constitution itself.

Any proposed amendments would need to pass by 35 states at the convention before they would be passed back to the states for formal adoption.

All that being said is RINO’s would be accomplices in quashing the needed amendments to right the American ship.

I like Levin, but he was wrong on Trump in the beginning, he's been on the wrong side of the speakership fight and he's wrong on this.

We already have a Constitution that is ignored. How will adding another bit to it help? How can we be assured that the 2nd Amendment isn't a point of consideration? If the delegates are sent with specific instruction as to what can and cannot be discussed, how can we trust the delegates to adhere to those rules? CoS will be a waste of time at best, and a loss of freedom at worst.

How can simply proposing an amendment to the constitution
"obliterate free speech and whatever remains of free assembly"?
The states would never ratify such a hideous thing.

The left would hijack the whole process. I have to hear anyone explain how that could be prevented. It’s what they’re good at.

However, there are no more than 10 Congresscritters that I trust
much less trust their intentions to respect the Constitution and the Bill of Rights in a re-write.
Too many members of Congress have been bought off, blackmailed, or compromized; it's just a matter of price $$

Not this again. Every few years Levin and that phony Tea Party guy Mark Meckler bring this up. On Meckler’s part, I think it’s an attempt at staying relevant.

Revising our Constitution is not a great or even good idea in today’s world.

You have noticed the lack of character, intelligence, common sense, ethics and morality in our society, especially politicians.

Why mess with a document written by highly intelligent Christian men?

It’s a terribly terribly bad idea. Even in the 1700s with extremely enlighten leaders and minimal media pressure, it took everything to get what we have. If we do something similar, we’ll lose probably 80% of our rights

I think it is pretty clear that we aren’t going to get out of our situation through any legal maneuvering. The Left has taken control of the system. Elections can’t be trusted now, and a convention of the States would be no different.

Our forefathers stated clearly that the structure of our government was not sufficient to keep evil in check. It was only a guide for a population of moral people. And we are, for the most part, no longer such a people. Not only has the character of average Americans degraded, but our government is populated by the worst of the worst - thieves, liars, murderers, perverts, and flat out evil people. We will not be free of them, at this point, through any parliamentary means.
