“I have so many eggs I give them away.
But you have to watch where you step and listen
to rooster crowing.
My chickens free range.”

Same here. We bring in enough to keep the immediate family supplied. I’m in charge of taking deviled eggs to all family dinners. Ours are free range as well, and it is amazing where those suckers can hide their nests! They seldom use the nesting boxes in the barn, but instead prefer behind the wood pile, under the barn cabinet, etc.
Before my mom died in September I made her a plate of deviled eggs. She ate one a day for about a week. It’s one of the last solid foods we could tempt her to eat before she stopped eating all together. She passed away peacefully with me and another sister there with her about two weeks after I brought the dish of deviled eggs. I’ll always be thankful I took the time to prepare those for her and she enjoyed them as much as she did.

Dad told me not to take all the eggs when I found a nest. Leave one. Then they won’t move it.
