"McCarthy is the “money man” from California that’s why he got the Speaker position."

Paid for assassin to eliminate America First.

“”Every politician always try to take credit as much as possible. It’s politics.””

Not Reagan, I remember him taking the blame when he shouldn’t, but he was very modest and sharing, even self-effacing when it came to the credit.

Trump will claim he reached out to the GOP establishment which stabbed him the back repeatedly and will do so again. McCarthy and McConnell will eventually break all their promises and betray their word and base yet again.

Trump will become furious and declare he supported them in good faith and they lied and can no longer be trusted. He will declare the GOP as unredeemable and corrupt and when denied the candidacy for president will run third party. MAGA and a chunk of conservatives will follow him and the GOP and Trump will lose in the general election and the congress will be a route for the Democrats because the GOP will no longer have a conservative base in their corner. The GOPE and their groupie conservatives who like the lash will wail and lament Trump and his voters and declare they cost us the presidency and congress and will in no way take responsibility for the disaster. Sadly the rest of the country will suffer what is the ultimate end with the current GOP leadership-communism, but with a third party it will come much quicker.

Perhaps if we survive we can build back without the communists and their GOP butt buddies having any influence with any part of the process. GHWBush ignited this fuse in 1990, it’s about to go boom...

Trump IS, by definition, the establishment candidate for president.

**************
Yep,

Just like every President since 1790, Trump is part of the establishment of The United States.

Guess what?

All of Trump’s opponents in the 2024 primaries will also be part of the establishment of the United States.

"...establishment of The United States."

Ok, I guess.

Of course, I meant the R party establishment.

I'm 75. Outlived everyone in my family as no-one else made it to 75. The majority died before the age of 70. The odds of me being around in 2024 are about as slim as the current Republican House majority. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not much of an optimist these days.

“Trump should not claim credit for this.”

Trump did not claim credit, he merely replayed what McCarthy said. There is not another political leader in the country who would not do so.

Some posters here can’t seem to understand slanted, pejorative headlines by anti-Trumpers.

I read such things as this:

He’s in his 8th term representing part of New Orleans and its suburbs. He supported Trump.

The NRA gives him an A+.

The Washington Blade said when he was shot, “Scalise has built over the course of his tenure in Congress since 2008 among the most anti-LGBT reputations of any lawmaker.”

NORML gives him a D for opposing the legalization of marijuana.

He can unify the party.

If I can see the need for a Speaker Scalise from Poca, West Virginia, then they can see it in Washington. - Don Surber
