Boston Sports Talk Radio has been speculating that Indy would be the neutral site for an AFC Championship Game (which I think is the dumbest idea the NFL has ever come up with). Turns out Volleyball trumps Football.

Scheduling conflict prevents Indy from possibly hosting neutral-site NFL playoff game
January 6, 2023 | Mickey Shuey

Indianapolis has turned down a request from the National Football League to potentially host the AFC Championship game at Lucas Oil Stadium later this month due to an already packed convention calendar for the city, officials say.

Executives with the Indianapolis Colts said they were approached earlier this week by league officials about hosting the game on either Jan. 28 or 29, after the cancellation of the Week 17 game between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals threw a wrench into the league’s typical playoff procedures.

Both teams are playoff bound, but regardless of the outcome of this weekend’s games, they’ll have skewed winning percentages compared to other playoff teams due to the fact they’ll have played one fewer game. A few playoff scenarios would see teams meeting in a neutral site AFC Championship game in a to-be-determined city.

Indianapolis was approached to host the game, but the city already has an event on its calendar at Lucas Oil Stadium and that would make it nearly impossible for the NFL to host the game there.

The Central Zone Invitational, a national volleyball tournament hosted by Capitol Sports Center, is expected to draw as many as 30,000 people downtown, with a peak hotel room occupancy exceeding 7,000 rooms, which accounts for nearly every room in downtown Indianapolis.

Visit Indy and city officials made an effort to see if the stadium could accommodate both the tournament and the NFL game.

Go Chiefs.

Yeah, go right along with Andy Reid's kids, a druggy and a drunk.

Reid cannot win enough to get the stench of his lousy job of being a parent off his back.

Go redskins, errr, commanders, err indians, err Tonto, err Crazy Horse, yeah go...

Wrong. If Kanas wins Bills basically have nothing to play for.

Not wrong. I states that Buffalo is “kind of in contention for”, and KC hasn’t won yet. The NFL has to decide NOW.

If the Patriots do manage to beat the Bills in what is a meaningless game for them, it will mean that they are callous and don't care about Damar. At least that is how the press will play it.

It would be like if a pretty girl beat out an ugly transvestite for prom queen at the local high school. The pretty girl will come under relentless attacks on social media for not respecting the "bravery" of the boy who showed up in a dress. Pressure will be brought on her to give up her crown to this much more deserving boy.

So the Pats better be Patsies this weekend and lie down for the Bills.

How did Tony Romo get to be a top analyst?

Maybe through hard work and competency at what he does?

His delivery and voice are irritating and I don’t find him that insightful.

Thousands of others disagree, which is why he's the best analyst since Madden.

Sometimes he seems bitter when discussing other quarterbacks with better skills.

Nah, I just think you have an axe of some sort to grind and are just complaining about nothing. Romo was a good QB but played in a lousy system with mediocre teammates.

As a Chiefs fan, I hope the Pats win. I just think the high emotions combined with the importance of the game give the Bills even more motivation than they need.

Meanwhile, NE is looking forward to draft day.

Say what now?

That was the Eagles, this is the Chiefs.

Andy Reid’s son, Britt Reid, was involved in a horrific car accident in 2021 that left a mother and her daughter physically and emotionally scarred.

Britt Reid was a "coach" for the CHIEFS, he was drunk as a skunk and got sentenced to 5 years.

His other son was a druggy that ODed in a hotel room.

Say what my ass, Andy Reid may be a good coach but he is a shitty parent.

One kid can go rouge but two, then I gotta look at "Coach Andy" instead of Dad Andy.
