But the beauty of this plan is that Trump would be Speaker for just 100 days, enough time to put his plans in action. And it would be almost impossible for McCarthy to undo the course that Trump will have already set in the House. That is why it would be "safe" to have McCarthy succeed Trump as Speaker and would ensure the votes for Trump tomorrow as Speaker because he would be endorsed by McCarthy. I call this a win-win.
I think it would be great, and have said so for months going back to last year, but I don’t think Trump is interested. He basically withdrew himself from all consideration by posting that pic of him behind Biden today too. Too bad.
