Sad thing is, this one lasted 40+ years.
Yeah I get it. It sucks.
My wife was great the first eight years we were married.
The last eight were pure hell. People change.
Same as my marriage. Turns out she was never really my friend. Hard to take but I acceptt it with the Lord's help.
Funny thing, since then, I've reconnected with some of my old high school buddies who I haven't seen for about 40 years.
Been through that, but not with a 40 year friend.
You make me laugh, and have for many years. If we were to meet, I’d call you friend. Oh, and even though I was, at best, a 3 in appearance, I was hit on by multiple 10s, high school, college, sitting in a doctor’s office, etc. Never understood the importance some place on ‘good looks’. I do have some regrets on passing on some of the 10s. I passed on all of them, but usually that was a good thing.
IN re lasting 40 years
The hardest two friendships I lost were girlfriends I was very close to in elementary, jr high, and high school. We have very unique and irreplaceable memories, the three of us. We remember family, social, school and event situations that unique to us alone. I simply can’t be replaced by others, there (neither can they.) They have no reasonable reason to diss me. It is a true loss.
