He needs to say what everyone knows - not everyone there was a Trump supporter, and not everyone there was innocent. We need to know who the names and backgrounds are to separate who from who. And no one, not even the guilty, should be held this long without a trial, as it is a violation of their rights.
My guess is a lot of these people are guilty of something wrong. We’re only talking about a thousand out of a million people there, but some are likely innocent, and nothing is being done for them.
Instead Trump’s says “if I’m elected I will pardon them” which is wrong on many levels. What if you’re not elected, then they just rot? And what about the guilty ones, they get a blanket pardon too?
So the names have to be known, and sorted based on potential guilt, to determine their level of need of political support, and pressure put for all to get a fair and speedy trial, either way. It’s up to Trump though. Everyone else sees this as his mess to clean up, not theirs.
I get where you are going, and in principle I agree. But I think it is much more nuanced than what you have written.
If I am understanding you correctly, you think Trump needs to sort the J6 incarcerated based on likely guilt and provide political support to those deemed not/less guilty. I have no idea what that would look like.
Trump’s only power at this point is to expose what is going on. Saying that he should clean it up, essentially, “fix it”, may sound good. But it seems to me his options are limited, and good options are fewer still.
