I’m surprised there is not an AED on the sidelines. Bet there will be now. But the EMTs should have a defibrillator on their rig.

No doubt they have an AED right there but wouldn't fire it up if he had a pulse. Later reports cite a pulse but not breathing on his own. (Heart working but no signal to do so from brain).

If they were doing CPR he had no pulse. They may have gotten one back after their efforts. There are other reasons an AED will not fire - if it does not detect a shockable rhythm. But I saw no mention one was even attempted
