The third paragraph of the article says why he should be a Medal of Honor Recipient.....
“SGT Blocker was wounded rescuing his men under fire. He was credited with saving the lives of several members of his unit during combat.”
Jimmy Stewart lost a stepson in Vietnam, anybody not wanting us in a war in Vietnam, should not have been voting democrat.
Neat man. Seemed honorable in all respects from all accounts. A great way to be and be remembered.

My 5th grade teacher was at Pork Chop Hill. He told us U.S. troops were on the slopes in foxholes covered by brush, while thousands of Chinese troops walked within inches of them, and they had to keep silent to avoid detection. We weren’t told any more. I wonder why.
There were hundreds of such incidents at that time - standards were different then - and so nothing above and beyond.
I remember going to the Rodeo in Louisville,Ky as a kid and seeing Hoss, Little Joe, Ben and Adam there. At least one of them appeared there for a few years. One of the highlights of my childhood. Lorne Green always rode a horse that belonged to my uncle.
Star Trek’s Scotty, James Doohan lost a finger on D-Day when his Canadian unit hit the beach. He went to some lengths to never let that hand be seen on the air but it is briefly visible on the Tribble episode.
The careerist generals have turned the MOH into a whacked out cult now and make a mockery of the medal after 9/11. We have awarded 25 medals after 9/11. That’s about 2 per year. In three years in Korea e awarded 146, that’s 50 a year. Vietnam was resulted in about 25-30 a year. WWII about 130 a year. WWI was 126 in 13 months.
The award criteria are very clear and fair. But it is a practical impossibility for a general to get one and they despise having too many men out there wearing one. So they have elevated it into a near mythical impossible status and they deliberately ignore dozens of truly deserving men. The idea of a PFC or Lance Corporal getting one truly annoys them. Men like that often say things or start having opinions. So the political vetting is getting very bad these days and it has turned the modern award (of all valor medals) into a PR drill above all else. But non combat bronze stars and legions of merit flow freely to officers. Every officer walks around looking like Audie Murphy these days.
The modern senior officer corps is betraying our men.
