There has to be much more to be told here. I strongly suspect he changed clothes inside the apartment after the killings, leaving no bloody footprints. He obviously put a great deal of thought into this, and I am surprised he had no visible scratches or injuries.

Perhaps he was wearing gloves to conceal any wounds/cuts on his hands.
