Watched an 18 year old walk backwards into the running prop of an E-2 on the USS Enterprise. Decapitated the young man, he’d only been on the ship I guess a short time.
I was an air traffic controller and saw it through the closed circuit TV. Obviously flight ops ceased that night.
My goodness that’s awful. I remember seeing video from the flight deck of a USN carrier with an A6 Intruder getting ready taxi to it’s flight position and a kid on the deck got too close to the rear intake, pulled in and spat out the front intake.
He was still alive but he was pretty banged up.
