Accidental discharge is not a real concern if you’re wearing the proper holster. What a carrier needs to train for is to extract the gun without putting a finger on the trigger.

The post to which I take exception was a suggestion that one do so with the safety off.
A pistol equipped with a safety has a safety for a reason. Most have much better triggers than the double action pistols, striker fired, etc.
Many pistols have triggers almost suitable for competition. I have a few with 2 lb and one 1.5 lb....all original.
But even a run of the mill 4 lb trigger requires a safety and the knowledge of of how to use it.
If one can’t get the safety off in the same motion that brings it into position, and with either hand, best to leave it at home.
