“Followed the discussion on “authentic” Mexican food.
By whose definition? Various regions in Mexico do the same dish in various ways. What do you each personally define as authentic? Is this the herbs and spices ? the fire? the thickness of the sauce? the sweetness of the sauce ? and with the tortillas how do you define ?”
Exactly, Dolly. I made that point in one of my posts, but not as well as you did. The only thing I can say is when I lived in the bay area, some restaurants “ californized” their food, not just Mexican, but other as well. Although I do miss the Greek, Indian and many other restaurants. I did have to cook my own chicken (or country) fried steak, lol.
Well, I get depressed because I can’t do what I used to be able to do when I was younger.
It’s freezing cold out, and a neighbor had given me a huge cat tree which is just too big to keep. So the top layer would make a perfect warm space for an outside cat. I unscrewed 2 out of 3 things attaching it, but my hands are giving out on the last one. My being left handed doesn’t help, but that never stopped me from doing what I wanted without asking for help.
The last 2 weeks have been a series of things not working as they should. And I have always been one that needed help.
Well that’s my rant for the day. Love you Dolly!
