My wife used a 6, she loved it. Then in November she hinted she would like a FitBit for Christmas.

I looked at the FitBit, it’s more for the athletically inclined, the wife is an active 79 year old, so an Apple Watch seemed more appropriate and it does more things that relates to her lifestyle and needs.

I picked out an awesome Apple Watch Series 8 with a 45mm display. Gave it to her Christmas morning and as we were setting it up, we discovered it would not pair with her iPhone 6! So off to the phone store we went and with the upgrades and incentives she’s earned since buying the iPhone 6 eight or so years ago, we got out of there with a new iPhone 14 paired to her new watch without too much financial indigestion.

After listening to her obligatory protestations about spending too much, I’ve been catching her playing with the watch & new phone like a teenager. LOL, best present(s) I have gotten her in many moons. What do you do at Christmas time with a person who has just about everything they want or need and insists on wanting nothing?

It’s challenging, last year I got her a $500.00 Nordstrom’s gift card, it’s still in her wallet 13 months later! At least these gifts feel appreciated. Hahaha.

BTW-I don’t know why the 14 sales are terrible. I like the iPhone 14 and the new camera is better than the one on my iPhone 10 XS Max.
