I remember first seeing that sort of thing taking place with celebrities back in about May 1985 when Selma Diamond (Night Court) and Dolph Sweet (Gimme A Break) passed within a few days of each other at about the same age (64) from smoking related cancer. And later that year, it was Rock Hudson, Yul Brynner, and Johnny Olson (game show announcer) within ten days of each other. And looking up in the IMDB, Elvis Presley passed on August 16 1977 and about two or three days later, so did Groucho Marx.
