I seldom order a Reuben in a restaurant because they’re usually not very good. One place even made what they called a Reuben with coleslaw instead of sauerkraut, if you can believe that. Every couple of months I get the ingredients and make about half a dozen at home.
I think that’s a Cuban Reuben. One of the substitutions is cole slaw.
In fact, I like the turkey in place of the pastrami. Don’t mind mammal meat, but turkey is less gristly to eat thru. Rather have it smooth.
The other thing is most sub 1000 Island for Russian dressing. Not terrible, but not fully accurate. I guess Russian is not common so they wing it.
I thought a Reuben with slaw was called a Rachael.
