I suspect people will stay away in droves.
3 maybe 4 tour dates and he’ll fold the tent for lack of interest.
It’s like seeing the band you grew up listening to, with everybody in their 80s, what’s the point?
Could go either way depending on marketing. If he targets urban black communities he might pull it off since at least 35-40% of that demographic believe in his innocence, or that the victims exaggerated and/or should not have waited so long to come forward.
You’re probably correct
Imagine the gauntlet you would have to walk through to even get to the theater/club. No thanks.
But his was the first comedy album I listened to as a kid. He was a funny guy. In that…he amused me.
Standing ovations and sold out houses every night. You're vastly underestimating Boomers devotion to what will be a greatest hits tour ("Novocaine", "Noah", "Children", "Cake for Breakfast"), with a small side of prison life.
The only limit to the tour is how many shows an 85-year-old man can do in a year.
Hell I'd pay extra if he would do the 2009 speech at NAACP DC where he literally made Jesse Jackson so mad Jesse started to cry about being rejected from a Tier 2 school in NYC (and instead got kicked out of Illinois-Chicago and ended up at NC AT&TLOFL). I'd pay double-extra to have Jesse Jackson on stage with Coz and watch him burn Jackson again!
"There is a time, ladies and gentlemen, when we have to turn the mirror around...They are buying things for their kids...$500 sneakers for what? But they won't spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics!..."Your dirty laundry gets out of school at 2:30 every day." It's cursing on the way home, on the bus, train, in the candy store. They are cursing and grabbing each other and going nowhere. The book bag is very, very thin because there's nothing in it...Don't worry about the white man. I could care less about what white people think about me. . . Let them talk. What are they saying that is so different from what their grandfathers said and did to us? What is different is what we are doing to ourselves..."
