Whew? For a moment there, I thought that the news was true.
At this point I leave the house and think the masked are morons. As I sit in the public library as the kids search for books? Morons abound.
I’m surprised that the press didn’t try to claim that Dusty Hill (RIP 07/28/2021) died of the COVID-1984.
I’ve never seen an explanation for how COVID variants were moving from Alpha to Beta to Gamma to Delta up to Omicron.
And then stopped at Omicron. Now we just have variants of Omicron. We’re up to Variant XBB of Omicron. Omicron itself is now referred to as B.1.1.529. But the current surge is XBB. The current variant of the Omicron variant.
It’s like they make this stuff up as they go along. I don’t have an special issue with the volatility. I have an issue with the fact that the naming standard is just all over the place.

There are branches off of various preceding viral particles that were way past Omicron. They did not have the necessary spike protein changes to qualify as a new variant.
Gottleib laid all this out the other day. Variants, hyper dangerous variants, come about not so much from sheer population infected as from the random person who “can’t shake” the virus. It has too long for its statistics to generate changes that punch through defenses. That person may go home and infect everyone around him with the new super duper variant.
The young folks had their lives impacted by the pandemic and they are upset . . . about the WRONG THING. The Chinese have all the control they need of society. They don’t have to manufacture a viral reason to be strict. They can be strict with the wave of a hand and shoot anyone that doesn’t like it.
The impact on lives is from the virus. Not anyone’s decisions. The virus doesn’t give a damn about decisions, and it clearly doesn’t give a damn about vax or mask. It has defeated those.
BTW the right thing to be upset about is how the virus is destroying life expectancy. The young are going to die earlier, and it doesn’t matter what they think about that.

The XTF SBF variant seems quite potent. Effected all of DC. Especially democrats.
So you need a vax booster that works against the original strain. Trust the science.
