TPSO Chief Jimmy Travis said Deputy Ledet’s coworkers described him as a “kind and extremely loveable man.”
“He was the kind of person to give you the shirt off his back,” Chief Travis added.
Deputy Ledet worked as a corrections officer for the Hammond Police Department prior to joining the TPSO as a patrol deputy.
He went to work for the East Jefferson Levee District Police for several years before he ultimately returned to work at the TPSO earlier in 2021.

Rest easy, hero. We’ll hold the line from here.
It always seems like people who commit suicide get elevated for positions of love and being a hero.

Ethel-Lou. That is a nice name. Nobody names their daughter that anymore. Girls’ names are always clustered in generations. Not sure why.
