My near suburb is already diverse with Hispanics and blacks. The Hispanics are OK, and the blacks are Caribbean derived, so mostly OK for now. But then Yugoslavia was OK and peaceful, until the inter-ethnic fighting began.
My friend ran a popular downtown restaurant where a homeless guy would harass every patron coming in and out.
If someone gave him $$, he would go into theatrics. If someone didn’t, they got an F-bomb.
My friend, being a gentle sort, tried to negotiate with him. Offer him meals if he would go away and come back at closing, etc... I think the homeless guy saw it as a sort of game or test of his “rights.”
My friend eventually got some cop-friends involved, who convinced the homeless guy to hang out elsewhere.
