never had a pet bird - someone offered to give us a old parrot once - we passed. Come to find out they did find him a home and the bird wasnt too keen on it and plucked out all its feathers!!

Be glad you passed it up. My DH thought a Maccaw would be a nice addition to his office. That was short lived. The bird would squawk every time the phone rang and added its opinions to the conversation his when clients were there.
So, guess where it ended up? I came home one day to find a huge cage off our living room with the bird in it. It was a novelty at first, but having a feathered friend repeatedly saying “Hello, hello” at four o’clock in the morning got old really quick.
We did the numbers and realized the bird would still be living longafter we’re gone. Instead of willing it to one of our kids, he/she ended up in a wildlife sanctuary.
