1,000 miles from the Great Smokies, part of which are in Tennessee, from Cherokee National Forest, which is in Tennessee?

Bryson City, N.C. (Just South of main body of the GSNP), to Hampton, Tenn, (the Northern most part of Cherokee NF)... 132 miles.

The article excerpts actually point that out; that it’s about 150 miles normally, but she took “the long way home”, which ended up going thru multiple states, to be about 1,000 miles.
