You need to read up on the history of the Ukraine-Russia-NATO relationships. You wouldn’t have posted what you did had you done so. I recommend an article on Imprimis entitled “Complications of the Ukraine War”.
Mr Caldwell cherry-picks his facts. He neglects to mention that in 1991 the citizens of the Donetsk and Luhansk provinces voted overwhelmingly for Ukraine over Russia, and even Crimeans chose Ukraine over Russia by 54%. And I am quite sure that Ukraine would love to reverse that 1994 decision to give up nuclear weapons.
I think that it was tragic incompetence that Bush 1 and Clinton didn’t actively support the success of the nascent Russian democracy under Yeltsin. But once the KGB thug Putin took over in late 1999, the die was cast. He came to power by murdering Russians, https://www.hudson.org/national-security-defense/the-mystery-of-russia-s-1999-apartment-bombings-lingers-the-cia-could-clear-it-up and is capable of anything. The pro-Putinistas, including Tucker, just avert their eyes from the reality of who they are supporting. It’s nice that Putin says he opposes gay marriage and supports Christianity, but it doesn’t make up for the mass murders.
