Times really haven’t changed, but the degree of explicitness has. When I was a kid the same thing occurred with Catcher in the Rye. Maybe that’s not a great analog, but the general idea is when books are restricted, it increases their popularity.

The bottom line is parents need to know and control what their children see. That goes for books, all media and the internet. Parents need to “re-educate” their children from exposure to government schools and other things. That’s best done at the dinner table with a family meal every evening. Homeschooling certainly helps.

That’s all well and good but when those parents who don’t do that and don’t raise their children with good boundaries and morality, those children are the ones that target the home school kids. My son was attacked by three little pervert boys and the damn camp counselors did nothing to stop it because he thought it was just “boys being boys”. When my son was finally able to call home, my husband and I flew down to the camp and raised hell and called the cops. This camp was suppose to be a “christian” camp.
