For decades, with each passing generation of useful idiots communism is repackaged and marketed as something new and...REVOLUTIONARY. Similar to the same old get-rich-quick scams pushed as new ways to achieve instant wealth.
Such as a sure fire method of buying and flipping real estate with no money down that any schlub can learn to do, for a small fee and a small fee only. How any schmuck can learn how to make a killing in stocks, and more recently bitcoin, again for a small fee and a small fee only. Or some shill who tries talking you into investing thousands in the latest snake oil and will show you how to make gazillions in residual income, or some other unworkable mathematically impossible MLM/pyramid racket.
They'll tell you other systems failed because they were implemented wrong but THEY have a PROVEN SYSTEM that works. The 4 deadly words, THIS TIME IT'S DIFFERENT. And like the hippies before them so many millenials fall for this crap like so many brainwashed little puppies.

Not only does education not make a person smarter, nothing seems to make Americans smarter.

And, unfortunately, it isn't a lack of brain power, but a lack of understanding of how to think analytically and how to solve complicated life problems.

If craftsmen, repairmen, and builders were as incapable of solving problems as Americans in general, our nation's technology would grind to a halt and tall buildings would tumble to the ground.

Don't get me wrong about craftsmen and builders, et al. Apart from their thinking on the job, they don't seem to be any better than the rest of the people at managing the large and small issues that face Americans.

It may be that modernity has outpaced our ability to keep a grasp on large amounts of mental input. Just too much information in our daily lives.

Or it may be the Dunning-Kruger effect wherein people don't do the mental work because they think they are already so damn smart they don't have to do the heavy lifting (i.e., an overestimation of intellect combined with an unwillingness to do the work required).

Whatever it is, we as a nation--and probably as a world--are headed for some serious disasters in the very near future. We are pushing a very big pile of manure up against a very powerful high-tech fan.

So this little bit of truth finally emerges? The Communist Party was so firmly entrenched in American society that they controlled almost every branch of government.

Their big moment was when they morphed that goofy "Ban the Bomb" movement into the Anti Vietnam War movement which very rapidly expanded, thanks to the hundreds of thousands who didn't want to risk themselves in Vietnam. Our government stood idly by as the CP-USA ran a commuter service to Hanoi and Moscow and returned with propaganda points, books and leaflets - and funds. At the height of their power, they occupied a majority of Congress and crushed the South Vietnamese resistance through the purse.

Their descendants still control us and we will just watch and complain.
