We already have this program, nationwide.
It’s called “Welfare.”
That’s what I always wonder about when they talk about these guaranteed income programs. Does anyone consider that these poor people who are supposed to receive the guaranteed income are already eligible for a whole host of Public Assistance programs?
And then I wonder if the individuals who received the guaranteed income is that over and above and on top of whatever Public Assistance they benefit from?
And then I wonder does anyone who’s giving out free money care what these individuals spend that money on? Or are we not supposed to ask what people spend that on? If they spend this money foolishly it would seem like it was a waste to give people this guaranteed income.
