I have one that started near my knee back in 2005 after hip surgery, and remained static for 15 years. Then it grew from my knee to the groin. I was told it could continue toward my heart, so I guess that’s possible. Now on blood thinner “life-long”.

There is a reason people are told to get up and walk at least once every half hour on a long overseas flight or at a sedentary job. The longer you are immobile, the greater is your risk of developing a blood clot in the legs which can move to the heart and lungs. I thought that was common knowledge, but apparently not.
