I do too. NFTs have been around for a while now - people forget that even in the tulip bulb craze the ones first in and out at the peak made money. At the worst you have a historical curiosity like a genuine WIN button or a Madam President Newsweek cover. The people most ridiculing this will be doing it themselves before long.
It’s not the first time the TRUMPS have sold digital images...

Sometimes I have to remind myself Trump is basically a businessman and marketing genius.
Politics was never his prime directive so he’s using the tools he was born with and perfected to pursue a way to raise money and market himself.
I too would like to know what his plan for these funds is. It’s not like it will make a huge difference to his campaign next year. Then again I’m not a genius like he is so... Maybe it will make more sense later.
From the website
“These Digital Trading Cards are not political and have nothing to do with any political campaign.”
This is not a campaign fundraising effort.
The Left’s portrayal of MAGA as a cult just received a huge boost from Trump himself - call it what you will - but the independents that we need to win elections are horrified at his mental state after this.
It’s a political reality.
The echo chamber in here is not representative of the idiotic general voting public - and we are not the ones who sway elections. We are the ones who make phone calls, knock on doors, and donate $.
This entire fiasco was an unforced error, and countless DNC fundraising commercials have now been written by Trump.
In reality, it's pretty damn smart, especially considering that these will go on the secondary market, likely sell for a lot more than $99 and Trump gets 10% of those sales, as well. Just because it's not understood by a large portion of those here, doesn't mean it's stupid.
Not needed. Many of these first edition cards will be sold on the secondary market for a lot more than $99. Trump gets 10% of all future sales of these on the secondary market. He's going to make a lot more than $4.5 mil off it.
Just checked the secondary market. These cards having been sold out are now on the secondary market for over $200 each.
Some tokens are selling for much higher prices. The one-of-ones, the rarest of the NFTs, which comprise 2.4% of the 45,000 unit collection (roughly 1,000), are selling for as much as 6 ETH at the time of writing. One of these rare trading cards, of the 45th president standing in front of the Statue of Liberty holding a torch, is currently listed at 20 ETH, or about $24,000."

He’s a business man. His product sells. So what if he sells golf clubs? Jimmah grew peanuts.
“What a pitiful fall.”
Now the question is, what are you trying to sell people? What on earth are you going on about?
Right? I have a Trump coffee cup. Use it every morning.
These people really have nothing.
Maybe they like DeSantis? Well he’s not even running, so who is irrational here?
Interesting.
You somehow missed Trump wine, Trump steak, and Trump University?
Amen brother, to everything you said.
No, Trump does not get 10%. The company that he licensed his name to gets 10% of the future sales. They did not disclose how much Trump gets, if any, of the secondary sales.
I just noticed that, as a licensing fee. Still, as NFTs go, Trump will likely get a portion of secondary market sales. Can’t say for certain, but it would make sense.
Rounding error.
