He was like Dr. Smith in “Lost in Space”. You hate him, but he makes the show better.

When James Garner tried revisiting his Maverick character in “Bret Maverick”, Stuart Margolin showed up as a 19th century version of Angel, bragging about his tracking prowess. He also directed the episode.

Good character actor.

He was able to ham up his parts without it seeming like a hammy performance.

All of his physical mannerisms worked with his execution of dialog to perfection.

He would make me so mad.......always out for a score but I’d get equally mad at Rockford for letting him take advantage of him so much.....I’d wanna spit!

He played Philo Sandeen in Bret Maverick, one of my favourite shows back in the day even though it lasted only one season (1981-82).
