I went to a hockey game and a fight broke out... in the stands.
Reminds me of a few local car races I’ve attended....
I thought the players were supposed to be punching each other in a hockey game, not the fans.
I live in Phoenix. This area is filled with transplants like me who kept our lifelong allegiances to teams in other parts of the country.
Boston has a strong fan base. The Coyotes do not. It makes sense that a team like the Bruins (or Flyers or Rangers) would create an opportunity for a fight in the stands to break out (Canadiens and Maple Leafs fans are too decent, though they are ardent as well).
The Coyotes are a cipher in Tempe/Phoenix. The Bruins are NOT a cipher in Boston (despite having the Red Sox and Celtics).
Two teams named after wild animals. What could possibly go wrong?! Sarc.
You could hear the white knights squeal, “Ohhhhhh!! Oh MY GOD!” when that girl pounding away got punched in the face.
They ended up winning again tonight.
"The fans are standing up to them. The security guards are standing up to them. The peanut vendors are standing up to them. And by golly, if I could be down there, I'd be standing up to them."
Reminds me of the old Cleveland Browns - Pittsburgh Steelers games at the old Cleveland Municipal Stadium. Epic action on the field and in the stands!
