I’m no fan of “Fraud! Fraud! Fraud!” but it DOES make interesting reading. One of my biggest problems with how Arizona does mail-in voting (and those laws will NOT change between now and 2026) is the reliance on signatures when so many people no longer HAVE signatures! My oldest daughter and son both have “signatures” that are essentially a squiggle of a straight line. MY SIGNATURE is easy to compare. I learned cursive writing in the 1960s. But theirs is just a squiggle. Could be anyone - bad habit, BTW, since any business can then sign your name.
So...worth reading. If I could change Arizona election law, I’d allow EARLY VOTING (which is done with voter ID) but no MAIL IN voting. Both are considered a way of “mail in voting” by Arizona law, but in person early voting with ID is vastly different than ballots delivered by mail.
BUT! That will not change during the next 4 years and probably not after that. I don’t see any Arizona court banning a style of voting approved by the Legislature and used by the vast majority of Arizonans. We need to find a way to win with the rules that exist because they won’t change.
This would be a lot better. I'm not sure I like early voting at all. I think voting should be a pain in the @$$ to help keep out the silly voters who can't be bothered to do it on election day.
Dedicated voters will do it on election day, but the frivolous people tend to want it to be convenient. I believe the frivolous people tend to side with the Democrats by a large margin.
