Worse yet subsequent generations of young Japanese are totally ignorant of what their fathers, grandfathers and great grandfathers did during WW2.
So true.
And since it was much that of a Asian cult, then once its deity-emperor conceded defeat and humiliating if honorable submission to the West - but not to its general faith (implicit state sanction of the latter actually not helping) - then while largely keeping its strong family government - which the US proceeded to lose - it converted its militancy to industrial output (not needing a large defense budget helping), even conquering to a substantial degree the automotive US monopoly, thus regaining self-respect.
You can defeat a man or country physically, but only God can change them spiritually, which requires a contrite repentant heart, (Ps. 34:18) but which man resists more than physical defeat even though that is what obtains victory thru conversion to the risen Lord Jesus.
For its part the US, having overcome much affliction and adversity, has succumbed to the most lethal test, that of affluence, and is headed toward a dictatorship, as most people will accept such over the increasing anarchy (in which we have less security than the 60's despite the spectre of nuclear war with its bomb shelters then, but the family unit and the degree of Biblical spirituality was much stronger) and economic insecurities.
