Really. I'm surprised the article didn't begin, "Samuel Moore Walton was born in Kingfisher, Oklahoma . . ."
Can someone who has worked retail translate to real life? This makes no sense.
Maybe I'll get the scoop down below in the comments.
Lately, there have been all kinds of incidents at Walmart. While some situations are actually kind and heartwarming, others are disturbing. Ultimately, Walmart has become the go to place for people to shop. Two decades ago, few could have predicted the big box chain becoming bigger than the mall. However, in many ways, Walmart has claimed that position. Especially considering the unofficial ending of Sears and Kmart, Walmart has taken a bigger market share. Unfortunately, wrongdoers consist of the market.
Did a 7th grader write this?
From another article:
“They made several transactions with the cashier, purchasing the items as well as gift cards and using a card to pay for the items.
The thieves asked the cashier to use the “cash” button on the register for their card to work.
This caused the register to ring up the sale as if cash was being paid, so it didn’t charge the thieves’ card.”

“ Unfortunately, wrongdoers consist of the market.”
I am not sure this combination of letters conveys any meaning in English.
Sounds like what the gangs of gypsies have been doing for a while. Confusing the cashier.
When you go thru the check out line the device ask if you
are paying by cash or credit. Apparently the worker wasn’t
paying attention to what was going on.
Either the worker wasn’t trained in scams, or the training didn’t stick.
Never, ever, let the customer dictate the sequence of events. Conclude one full transaction before starting another one.
Search “quick change artists” for some videos of how scammers work and how to prevent scamming.

The scam appears to be that the fake credit cards are only made to look like they are real but the bogus (cash only) instructions on them trick the cashier into pressing keys on the register to make her think the credit cards actually worked. The crooks then take the gift cards and looted items along with the store receipt to another store and return them to get cash.
I suspect they might sell them on the black market instead of tricking another store into letting them return the items.
I'm struggling with that one.
And this one.
The unnamed couple in the photos above are 19-year-old, Jaylan Griggs.
I guess this is what happens when schools stop educating and just indoctrinate instead.
Thanks. That’s so slimy. And they bought all those gift cards. Clever crooks. I hope they get caught. There was a recent article about Wal-Mart raising prices because of all the brazen shoplifting. Whether scams like this or shoplifting, the customers pay for it all in the end.
It was a “cash card” scam. They convinced the cashier to hit cash instead of card.
