For several hundred years, Malthusians have predicted disaster for the human race based on overpopulation causing shortages of coal, timber, food, etc. The late great economist Julian Simon showed how time after time, a free market economy will adapt to and overcome any shortage. As the price of a commodity increases, human ingenuity figures out how to increase production of the commodity or introduce acceptable substitutes. It’s only in socialist/communist/managed economies do shortages actually kill people.
Every innovation in progress for western man over the last 200 years came from the brains of capitalist inventors. If we needed a solution, we created a concept to fix it.
Marxists could never do that. They crush the innovators/ inventors.
The issues we face today can only be solved by the free thought process of western thinkers, not the capitalist crushing ideas of the Marxist UN asses.
Need to clean dirty coal exhaust emissions?
Put scrubbers on the exhausts.
We did it, but the Chinese couldn’t figure it out
A free market economy did not adapt to permit continued function of France when the Nazis occupied in the late 1930s. Those economists were likely shocked with the Nazis informed them there would be no more French Francs, the central bank was being closed, and the cost of garrison would be borne in the form of food shipped to Germany.
Free market economy adapted to bullets in the head . . . not very well. Forces of nature overwhelm capitalism. Every. Single. Time.
