“The price of a burger at a sit-down restaurant has been inching up for years. A decade ago, you could still have a burger & fries for just under $10. Now it is closer to $15. If you load up the burger with fixins, it’s more than that.”

I paid $9.55 (including sales tax) for a double double cheeseburger, French fries, and regular root beer at In-N-Out Burger in Prescott AZ.

Yeah, it should be cheaper for a fast food place. But when I say “sit down restaurant”, I mean one with a wait staff. The ones I typically eat burgers at are Applebees, Chilis, Red Robin or some local brewery.
