Biden is suffering from dementia. It is not hard to envision things going different if someone took the TV remote away from Biden.
However, different would likely not be better. It would be a Democrat coin flip. Heads they win, tails we lose.

According to multiple sources, Russia would only release Whelan in exchange for the release of Vadim Krasikov, a former KGB colonel who is serving a life sentence in a German prison. In other words, a “spy for a spy.” Instead, they traded Griner for Bout — a common criminal for a common criminal.
In my memory, Biden has always been a thick, mean-spirited political hack. I don’t have a lot of faith in what he would do differently if his mind weren’t going.
