But.. As I see it (IANAL).. Hunter, lied on federal form 4473, as a prohibited person. Both as being dishonorably discharged, and a habitual drug user. not sure if any prior arrests are involved.

The SS must have been aware that Hunter had a firearm. That they did not immediately act on this is probably a crime as well?
