Nope.
And as you know the numbers are important here which is why I highlighted them.
He ain’t getting the gavel without those 5.
He ain’t getting the gavel without those 5
can’t the democrats make some sort of deal with him and push him over the top?
Here’s my take on the kabuki theater:
1. Pelosi will still run everything, from the backroom. Other than minor things or statements, here and there, she’ll be pulling his puppet strings.
2. The Republican WHIP, Emmer, is pretty much a Democrat. And as another commenter on FR just stated, a Republican Representative may have stated that with regards to subpoenas against the Democrats, etc...those subpoenas will have to be examined for their legitimacy. Where do you even begin with your disgust for the Republican Party.
**For years I’ve been against it, naively thinking that it could be changed, but it’s time for a: Conservative, MAGA or whatever you want to call it, party. The Republicans in DC are not going to change.
3. McCarthy is working with the Democrats to secure his election. Pelosi/Schumer(yes I know he’s a Senator, but he controls money and has influence)/Jefferies/Hoyer will sit down, identify some “moderate Democrats” or “Democrats in reddish/Purple districts” that will be allowed to vote for McCarthy in the interest of bipartisanship. Knowing that even if a Republican brings something up, with a mountain of proof, the UNIPARTY will concoct a crisis where that thing will be put “on the back burner” due to the severity of this new crisis.
And, sadly, a sizable chunk of those from: Independents that lean a bit Right, Right Leaning Libertarians(the few that there are), Moderate/ChamberofCommerce/CountryClub Republicans, and some Conservatives will give McCarthy the benefit of doubt.
