Interesting name. Ha. I didn't know about the Olympics. Read up about it. That's what it should be. A fun occasion. Maybe it'll return to its beginnings now the luster is gone.
The IOC awarded the 1960 Olympics to Squaw Valley, United States. It was an undeveloped resort in 1955, so from 1956 to 1960 the infrastructure and all of the venues were built at a cost of US$80,000,000 ($565 million in 2022 dollars!) The opening and closing ceremonies were produced by Walt Disney. The Squaw Valley Olympics was the first Winter Games to have a dedicated athletes' village, the first to use a computer (courtesy of IBM) to tabulate results, and the first to feature female speed skating events. The bobsleigh events were absent for the only time due to a minimal number of nations expressing interest in competing and the cost of building a bobsleigh run.Can you just imagine the ceremonies that Walt Disney Corp would create today? It would be nonstop homos, trannies and drag shows.
