Prophet Robin D. Bullock says that Melchizedek ran a school for prophets in Salem where he was king an high priest an that Abram went there as a child which is why he recognized who he was and paid the tithe. The most interesting theory he puts out which is entirely feasible is that Melchizedek is Abrams great great great grandfather the last surviving son of Noah-Shem.
Now that makes even more sense!
