I made an order with GE August 5. Paid for a combo microwave/oven. Mine is 12 years old and the microwave stopped working. I had the tech out and he told me he can repair it but when the stove goes they do not make parts for it anymore. Suggested I might just get a new one.
My kitchen has it such that my old combo microwave/oven is set in a cabinet that has no room for expansion on either side. Hence I am forced to buy the only combo microwave/oven that fits, and that is GE's product.
So I ordered it. They make you pay up front. The order for that particular oven is on back order. Every month I get an email, "Hello .......,
We apologize for the delay on your appliance order and any inconvenience this may cause.
Rest assured, we are doing all we can to get your order shipped as quickly as possible and will contact you as soon as we are able to schedule a delivery date.
Sincerely, The GE Appliances Store team
I get these at the beginning of every month and have since August 2022 when I ordered it.
I have called twice, am put on hold for 2 hours, second time robot informs me to press one and they will call me back. I will not lose my place online.
First call last month the girl on the phone said it is looking like it will be another month. She is not privy to any information as to why it takes so long but back order products do take this long routinely. There is nothing more she can tell me, like who is working on it, if it is being worked on, what is the hold up.
Second call, same info, but added it could take up to a year, these things do and have and maybe even longer. I told her my oven still works but if it goes out I have no way to cook until I get that oven. It was the same answer, she has no way to access the reason why, when it will be delivered, what is the hold up, blah blah blah.
So my question to FR is, should I file a complaint with the Attorney General or will that just create a problem for me? They could drop me. I have researched all other companies that make these things, all new oven microwave/combos are 33 inches or larger. Mine needs to be 30 inches. The cabinet on one side ends with my cooktop and tile right up to the microwave/combo, the other side is a hall.
Out-friggin’ standing!
It sounds as if he ordered the correct size initially, based on the first GE tech’s suggestion, but had a brief brain fart when talking to Lowe’s TODAY. I’m not sure who he’s supposed to apologize to, outside of the Lowe’s tech....and that was almost immediately corrected. I’m also not sure why you’re being an asshole...and no help at all to a fellow Freeper.
Nice.
What exactly did I say that would make you call me an asshole?
He's the idiot who complained that there were no 30" ovens out there till I pointed out a whole page at Lowes.
Then he discovers that his 30" oven is actually a 27" when he could have looked at his paperwork in the beginning.
So I rightfully criticize him for being stupid (which I didn't really say) and now you're calling me an asshole?
Personal colonoscopies aren't recommended by the medical community so take your head out of your ass.
And lay off the booze, it clouds your reading comprehension.
I saw what a replacement microwave cost for my built-in and bought a microwave from Walmart and put it on the counter.
I ordered 4 custom windows in the summer. I was supposed to get them on December 23rd (6 month wait), but they came in on November 23rd, so I got them a month early.
Can you order via some other retailer?
Then, cancel this order?
We had a similar issue, with a Kitchenaid microwave. Only one size would fit into our builtin cabinet.
We got the order in time....but, it was a defective oven. So, they replaced it. The tech told us every appliance coming out of China, right now, is terrible :(
Good luck.
Congrats...you’re still being an asshole.
You need to adjust your expectations. Cancel the order if you would like, then ask your credit card company for reimbursement.
Why would I cancel an order that is being delivered shortly?
Why would I cancel the order that’s going to be delivered.
That’s good news. Maybe more of us should post corporate websites when we need something done.
Yeah. I was honestly so surprised!
It certainly is a thought.
Didn't realize that means ‘shortly’, to you.
Please excuse my reply.
😂
You can always post on IG and other social media, as well, for a response.
Glad to see they saw your FR post.
Did you read my latest post number 55? It is to be delivered in a couple of days.
No...as I mentioned....I read the headline/OP..
Did you ping me to your ‘latest post number 55’?
Apologies if I missed your ping, of post 55, to me.
EVERYTHING is taking longer. We are in the process of remodeling our kitchen...since March of 2022. Most of that time has been waiting for kitchen cabinets to come in. Not enough help anywhere in the supply line.
