There are more than seven members to that star cluster, I forget how many.
A beautiful winter object
Lots more than seven. Wikipedia says over 1,000 stars have been identified as belonging to the cluster. I once saw either 10 or 11 without optical aid, on a very clear night at about 8,000’ in the Sierra Nevada.
