The 22lb bag of dog food has gone from $21.00 to $38.00 in 9 months. Now THAT’S INFLATION. I also give them hamburger and vegetables every other day. Getting pretty spendy.
I would only have thirteen dogs if I could control them and I was fully retired. That’s a full-time job to care for so many dogs. You’re at risk of the dogs forming a pack without you.
I love Goldens, but 13 is a bit extreme.
My two Chows go through 20 lbs of meat each week, I spend a lot of time cooking bulk amounts of pork, chicken and turkey (and de-boning it). Fortunately, I just mostly eat what I cook for them, so it’s fairly efficient. Add to that grooming, exercise... I don’t see how anyone could handle more than maybe three or four unless they don’t work.
There really is too much of a good thing.
They know what causes that now.
400lbs, LOL. I know a guy who has 150 horses.
One of the stupidest and most inbred breeds. As much as I LOVE dogs, GRs are among the stupidest and worst genetic breeds out there.
“Stupid” comes to mind. But that term is not forceful enough for the dog owner in the article.
As long as he can afford it, it’s not up to anyone to disparage him.
This guy feeds raccoons. One day he ran out of hot dogs and all the police found were his shoes.....

They’re adorable but....I couldn’t imagine how much of a PITA it is to take care of that many and, its gonna be really tough for him when a bunch of them go within a relatively short time period. Keeping one or two out of a big litter I could see, but not the whole litter. Its best to space your dogs apart by a few years at least so that when you lose one of your buddies you still have another to keep you company.
The back yard must be full of poop.
